Who Am I?
Becca. Beyond that is a complicated unknown that I can’t even begin to explain and don’t fully know yet.

Where Am I From?
Technically from upstate New York, however, I moved around a lot growing up as a military brat. Most of my life has been spent in the mid and northern east coast and in Germany. For the past four years I lived in Los Angeles. In January 2010 I moved back to the east coast — actually residence location TBD, currently bopping between DC and NYC.

What Do I Do For Work?
I work in public relations and creative public engagement. I went to Virginia Tech for my undergrad (bachelor’s in communication) and fairly recently finished my master’s in communication management from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication. I have worked in non-profit and public affairs PR, new/online media, entertainment publicity and corporate communications. Currently, I am job hunting for an “interesting” job in public relations, grassroots communication, public engagement, consumer behavior, etc. that creates creative strategic approaches in our constantly changing world of media and information sharing.

Why Am I Blogging?
I used to blog regularly both for myself and as an editor for DCist.com. I stopped blogging when I moved to Los Angeles because I started writing papers for grad school, specifically a white paper thesis on how digital technologies have changed the consumer’s motivation for going to the movie theater and therefore changes the business models and practices of theater owners. After I finished my thesis I was quite busy with work and never picked it back up.

I miss it, but have lacked the discipline and motivation to get myself going again. 2010 is my year though!!! I really just want to lube up my rusty blogging skills and get them going again. And maybe update my friends on my life along the way if they care to read.

What Do I Blog About?
Whatever I damn well please. I abhor being caged in my a topic-specific blog. If it passes through my head and out my fingers and published is pushed…that is what I am blogging about! Mainly me focused narcissistic crap…the usual blog fodder.
